Full System Reset question ...

A quick question if I may - if you replace a hard drive using Copy + and subsequently perform a FSR (not just a Planner Rebuild), does the drive revert to 500GB, or will a larger disc retain it's greater capacity afterwards?

I ask this because simply replacing a hard drive in (most) Sky HD boxes will only work up to the limited capacity (500GB) allowed by the system's automatic formatting utility, and Copy+ is needed to utilise the whole capacity - so does a FSR interfere with Copy+'s initial preparation of the drive?

Yes, a FSR in most boxes resets the capacity because it reformats the disk. The Sky format code is broken on all boxes except the newer Amstrads that natively support disks of 1TB and above.
The actual capacity you will receive is the remainder after dividing the installed disk capacity by 508GB.
i.e. 750GB becomes 242GB
1TB becomes 492GB

The solution is to do a backup and restore using Copy+, which will reformat the drive and regain full capacity.
