Here's a list of everything in the root except the folders (it is worth noting that the folders of newly recorded programmes do have correct timestamps):

Code: Select all
14/04/2010  22:33            86,016 OTVERT2.MAP
14/04/2010  22:27            16,384 _XCLIENT.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27             1,536 _XSETUP.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            16,384 XCLIENT.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27         2,562,048 _JOPA.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27             1,536 XSETUP.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,224 _PMAN.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27         2,562,048 JOPA.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,736 _SIGNUP.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,224 PMAN.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,224 _CMD.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,736 SIGNUP.DB3
14/04/2010  22:27            52,224 CMD.DB3

14/04/2010  22:30         1,025,024 CRID.DB3
20/04/2010  19:45            98,308 CRID.DBF
01/01/1980  00:01             4,346 XCLIENT.DBF
28/12/2008  12:45            32,768 ROOT_DIR.CP0
01/01/1980  00:01           172,032 OTVERT.MAP
20/04/2010  19:44               532 XSETUP.DBF
01/01/1980  00:01         2,102,580 JOPA
01/01/1980  00:01             4,976 PMAN.DBF
01/01/1980  00:01            38,906 SIGNUP.DBF
20/04/2010  19:45            65,536 XSI1.DB
20/04/2010  19:45           442,145 MDSKVT
01/01/1980  00:01             2,116 CMD.DBF

As for deleting the DB3 files, I attempted this a few hours ago (using the command prompt of course), Windows claimed the file didn't exist (despite being in the dir output). I never checked to see if the volume was write protected but I'd assume that would give me a different error?
I never had the XTVFS drivers installed since I don't use 32-bit Windows (are there any plans to release an x64 version?, although I guess the driver signing stuff may pose an issue)

The drive is back in the box and I'm waiting for it to spin down. It's been in for about 5 minutes and hasn't spun down yet. Seems to be a lot of sporadic disk activity.

Right then, the new build of the alpha version of 1.2.0.6 seems to have done the trick! It detects all the recordings on the old drive and has successfully created an image that i can use to restore to the new 1tb disk.

A message did pop up at the end saying that it detectied some serious errors on the source disk, so i'm guessing that is to do with the multiple Jopa files or something, but it's not an issue as that disk won't be going back in a sky box.

Fingers crossed for some trouble free viewing with my new 1tb disk.

Pcbbc, I'm an IT recruiter by trade and all i can say is that if all developers had your patience, dedication and sheer pleasantness my day job would be a lot easier!! Many thanks for your help....hopefully I won't be bugging you again anytime soon.

Thanks for that.

Looks a good candidate.
Funny my fix seemed to work for azarno1 though :?

Probably they have the SYSTEM attribute set.
Try: ATTRIB -S <filename>

Yes, signing is a bitch. Also I don't have a 64 bit system to test on, so development is a bit of a problem.

Is Anytime on or off?

NP.
Still a mystery why the date stamp isn't changing on sorch's box. Any ideas what you might have done differently?

Fingers crossed for you!
Cheers, Stuart.

Edit: Updated alpha which also checks XSETUP.DBF/DB3 timestamps dispatched to sorch.
And also thank you both for your patience and help resolving this.

Anytime wasn't off, I assumed that it only worked overnight. I turned it off and I'm pretty sure the drive span down by itself.

Still 1980, it seems. I'll give the file you just sent a go.

EDIT: it's detecting that it is an HD box now. Copying now. If this works I think a donation is definitely your way.

Sorry guys, I'm not on a par with you guys technically speaking so I can't offer any thoughtful opinions. All I can say is that i did install the XTVFS drivers before i did anything if that potentially makes a difference?

Thanks - I appreciate it, especially considering you've had such problems.

Just a quick word to say i also had that message "Not a valid XTV file system - ". I managed to successfully [so far so good] install a 1.5 tb drive by taking the advise posted here, ie to use the previous 1.2.03 version of Copy+. Its only after the process was complete that it occurred to me the 'time zone' for this computer was still set to the default US after a recent reinstall, and that other users might have inadvertently encounter the same without realizing it.

I'm guessing Copy+ uses the computer's time zone to determine which version of the XTV file system is appropriate without actually checking the 'source drive' for this information. You might want to add the obvious to the next version of the help guide.
