Pace TDS850NNZ (mySky HDi NZ)

Postby thunderslug » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:31 pm

FYI:

After a recent software update, the Pace TDS850NNZ no longer recognises the full capacity of a 1TB drive. It's hard to tell exactly how much of the drive is readable, but it seems like it's around the same as what the original drive was - 320GB.

I'm not sure whether this is an intentional restriction, or just an unhappy coincidence...

Oh dear - Sorry to hear that.
Have you lost your recordings?

My guess is that you probably have 1TB modulo 508GB, giving 492GB usable.
Full capacity may be recoverable with a copy off and back on.

Well, i've only lost that which I chose to delete to allow the box to record again, at least I had control of what stayed and what went...

It is almost painful to see an hour of HD using up 4% of the disk!

I tried a fresh disk but that gave the same result. A friend of mine, who also fitted a 1TB drive, has the same issue. After the overnight software update, I noticed that all the subsequent recordings failed with "out of space" errors. After I deleted some (a lot) of stuff it's back to normal.

Guess I'll just have to be choosey about what gets recorded...

A fresh disk that you prepared with Copy+?
Umm - Doesn't sound like there is much hope then.... :(

Hey Thunderslug, not good mate I have the same issue! Can you look in your planner do you see the Free space percentage anymore? I cant see mine it's disappeared, I guess its cause I have over 320GB stored on my 1TB, may have to delete some more programs

Yep, mine was the same. The free space indicator will return once you have deleted enough stuff, and then you will be able to record again...
