Do you man Sky+ or Sky+HD box?
You can not (easily) put a 1TB in a Sky+ box due to the largest PATA drive available being 750GB.

Best drives to look for are:
1. Drives designed for AV or CE use (usually tagged with such a monica on the end of the model name by the manufacturer)
2. One someone has tried before!
