Any other questions about the software?

Not a valid file system for UK - Sky+/Sky+HD

Postby kendo » Fri Nov 04, 2011 7:33 pm

I removed my IDE 320GB from a pace 3100 and successfully copied all the FTA recordings to my PC in readiness to copy the files to a SATA 500GB which is intended for an Amstrad DRX780. The Pace was used with a valid Sky sub in the UK until I removed the disk a couple of days ago.

When I start Copy+ and select the disk (which it correctly finds) it comes up with "Not a valid file system for UK - Sky+/Sky+HD". I have checked the settings and they are OK.

I've tried rewriting the MBR and the BPB but no change.

The IDE disk is in a USB caddy and my OS is XP. The disk was originally prepared for the Pace using Copy+ so it is strange that +extract worked OK (and still does as it can create a recording list) but Copy+ can't. Any suggestions welcome.

Just to add to the above, I put the Disk back in the Pace 3100 and all the recordings where visible and playable (naturally, some needed the card).

I've deleted the ones that I successfully copied to my PC.

Next step is to try Copy+ again.

Talking to myself here but it may help some one.

Did a rebuild planner in the Pace 3100 and then tried Copy+ again.

ATM it is copying to a 500GB SATA disk.

Still don't know what was wrong the first time.
